Mary Anne Therese Manuson gana un concurso internacional

Winner of Feature Articles Competition “Opportunities through Integration” Announced

Ms Mary Anne Therese Manuson, a 26-year old Research Associate with The Development Executive Group in Pasig City from the Philippines was named the overall winner in the Feature Articles Competition on “Opportunities through Integration” for her article on consumer choice.


As the winner, Mary Anne, will receive a return air-ticket to Jakarta and spending money, meet the Secretary-General of ASEAN, and work with a journalist to review the winning entries for publication.


The Feature Articles Competition was jointly organised by the ASEAN Secretariat and the ASEAN-EU Programme for Regional Integration Support (APRIS) to raise awareness of the benefits of economic integration and the creation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by 2015. Opened to all ASEAN nationals under the age of 30, entries were invited on four themes: business opportunities; business competitiveness; consumer choice; and consumer protection.


Besides the winner, two runner-ups were identified. They were Mr Yoeman Anton, a 21-year old undergraduate student majoring in International Relations at the Parahyangan Catholic University in Bandung, Indonesia, who wrote on the subject of business opportunities; and Ms. Shellen Halim, a 20-year old undergraduate student at the Economics Faculty of Binus International University in Jakarta, Indonesia, majoring in marketing, who submitted an article on business competitiveness. As runner-ups, both Yoeman and Shellen will receive cash prizes.


The winner and two runner-ups were selected by a judging panel comprising of staff from the ASEAN Secretariat and APRIS. The winning articles will be posted on the ASEAN and APRIS websites shortly. Do look out for them.
